Sorry it's a bit late but here it is anyway, our 3rd CoTW, Dimensional Fissure.
Now, why Dimensional Fissure? That's because my Dark World hates it so much. But why Dimensional Fissure instead of Macro Cosmos? I'll explain that later, but first let's look at the card.
Dimensional Fissure
Spell / Continuous
"Any monster sent to the Graveyard is banished instead."
The effect of this card is briefly explained in just one sentence making it more evil. As you can see, it banishes any monster that will be sent to the graveyard, and that explains why I chose this over Macro. Macro sends everything to the banish zone, while Fissure only sends CARDS TREATED AS MONSTERS.
Why is that phrase bold and CAPITALIZED you ask? Well, it's because Xyz Materials are not treated as monsters and therefore goes to the graveyard instead of facing banishment. With that kind of effect, it became a great side/main card for some powerful deck. Of course we all know Rabbit Laggia likes it so much, but there are other decks that love it too, such as Inzektors. Hornet and Ladybug bypasses Fissure and goes to the grave and can ultimately be recycled non-stop, thus making them harder to defeat. Another archetype that sides this card is non other but the new prostitute deck of the Fire Nation, the Flaming Stars. Yes, Flaming Stars side Fissure because they can still use their effect of tributing Fire Dance cards to stack in the advantage against the opponent. But with Fissure on the field, Flaming Stars cannot do their herpy-derp strategy of overpowering field presence with Hoshin, or the new Triple-Axis Build consisting of Choten, Tawkei and Taihyo (but I call it the Hetalia Build due to the anime Hetalia), thus forcing them to play control, but it's still powerful.
After looking at the decks fund of this card, let's look at its haters.
First off, Dark World, I hate it and we all know why, there's no need for me to explain further. Next is Mermail/Atlanteans/Genex, they are the same as DW so there is no reason for me to explain. Machina Fortress also hates him because he can't discard himself. Madolche is one of the newer decks that hate Fissure because they can't use their main ability to return to the deck. Another one is Lightlords, the monsters they mill will be banish with this card on field. And lastly, Zombies, they are the last one I can think of since their grave dependent.
Some Notable Friends of Dimensional Fissure:
"Gravekeeper's Servant"
We all know the infamous Fissure/Macro + GK Servant lock down right. At first I didn't get how this could be a lockdown but further researching that it's all about game mechanics. Back to the lockdown, Since we can't send cards to the grave because of Fissure/Macro because they'll just be banished and it's not determined if we're going to mill a monster, it completely stops us from milling and making us unable to attack.
AS LONG AS YOU'RE NOT A MONSTER OR GRAVEYARD DEPENDENT, YOU'RE A FRIEND OF DIMENSIONAL FISSURE
