Why Avatar you might ask, well, this is what YGO feels right now. In the first part of this format, it's like anyone has a fighting chance ever since the limitation of Inzektor. Even tier 2 decks were winning at this point.
As soon as the 8th series began, it was like Avatar. REDU released further support for Earth in the form of Geargia and Madolche. Although Madolche didn't shine until the next booster, Geargia was a great engine for Machina and Karakuri, or combine them to become MKG(Machina, Karakuri, Geargia). (BTW, did you see Geargia Gear's art, the carrier of Gear Gigant Cross looks like Daimos' carrier from the anime)
These 3 powers up the engine although Geargiarmor needs to be set up first
Then Konami released SD23 and ABYR. Atlanteans and Mermails were unleashed to the sea. Imagine Konami looking at Hades and saying "Release the Mermails".(Clash of the Titams reference). The Atlantean Genex Mermail combo was quite fearsome to start with. It was menacing but it was a very expensive so only the lucky and rich players managed to hold the power of the deep. By this time, Mermails hugged the spotlight but other decks are still viable and still has a fighting chance.

Now, with Sea Serpents roaming the sea and the Machines making a death star somewhere, everything was balanced and peaceful. But in the deepest corner of the world, an evil force was building. When Cosmo Blazar was released, everything changes when the Fire Fist attacked.

With the powerful combo of Tenki + Bear, everyone in their path just rages. Admit it, activate Tenki, take Bear, summon Bear, Bear eff, attack, set Tenki, repeat next turn. WHAT KIND OF A BITCH MOVE IS THAT? with this combo, Bear and Tenki became a force to be reckoned with making a lot of boss cards cower in fear like Ophion.
The power of Bear was something close to unstoppable, except for another Fire Nation Clan called the Haze Beasts. With Haze Beast's ability, it is a pain to remove them from the field, and what's more, their boss card Haze Beast Basilicock is a unstoppable with 5 materials that is easily done with the help of the Hieroglyphs' swarming Tyhone on the field.
Another Fire Nation Clan also decided to join the Hundred Year War, it is none other but the Fire Kings. With their boss card Fire King God Beast Garudonix, they started burning all that is in sight. But wait, with 2 Garudonix, an endless cycle of Dark Hole is created only for you to suffer.(Talk about applying cold water to burned area)
But now, in the realm of Tachyon Galaxy, will there be an avatar that could stop this war? Will it be the Harpies? Or perhaps the Phantom Beast Planes? Among these two archetypes, who is the legendary avatar that will restore balance to the world? But among the citizens of Tachyon Galaxy, there lies another Fire Nation Clan called the Burning Knucklers. It is still uncertain whether BKs are like Zuko who would help the avatar, I guess we should wait more if the format will be affected with LTGY's release.
Whether Harpy or PBP is the next avatar, they still have a lot to learn, but I believe, one of them can save the world.
